Tengo el gusto de dirigirme a Uds. con motivo de la clausura de este foro electronico organizado por CONDESAN-InfoAndina con el auspicio de COSUDE para el proyecto Foro de Montaņas - America Latina
Este es el tercer foro electronico InSitu que organiza CONDESAN-InfoAndina con el Dr. Miguel Holle desde 1995, cubriendo temas de interes regional sobre la conservacion In-Situ de la biodiversidad en diversos lugares del planeta.
En el foro que hoy culmina hemos discutido aspectos sobre la conservacion In-Situ de cultivos nativos por comunidades en diversos lugares del continente: en el Archipielogo de Chiloe, en el Sur de los Andes (Jujuy), en el Altiplano boliviano, hemos visto las experiencias de conservaicon en los andes centrales de Peru, y el rol de la investigacion para la conservacion inSitu en Ecuador, Honduras y Mexico.
En este foro han participado 100 representantes de instituciones de ONGs, Organismos nacionales, Universidades, Comunidades indigenas, zonas de reservas, instituciones donantes y centros de investigacion.
Los participantes pertenecen a 20 paises de America Latina (85%) y del mundo (15%), a quienes agradecemos sus contribuciones.
Un agradecimiento especial al Dr. Miguel Holle, quien gracias a su dedicacion y perseverancia ha llevado adelante este tercer foro InSitu99, uno de los mas exitosos de su serie, dado que se han circulado 14 ponencias y 35 comentarios durante las 7 semanas del evento.
Mi agradecimiento especial a nuestros colegas investigadores del CIP que han participado en este foro activamente (Zozimo Huaman, Maria Scurrah, Noel Pallais, Mario Tapia, Nelly Espinola), contribuyendo con su gran experiencia en el tema de papas nativas con la discusion.
Un agradecimiento InfoAndina, el brazo de informacion de CONDESAN, por su labor facilitando la organizacion de este foro mejorando cada vez la calidad de este evento en beneficio de los participantes.
Esta lista seguira abierta para la discusion post-conferencia durante un periodo adicional, se difundira la sintesis final y el cuestionario de evaluacion que permitira monitorear el impacto de este tipo de actividades para mejorarlos en el futuro.

I am glad to send you this note in ocasion of the "closing ceremony" of this e-conference organized by CONDESAN-InfoAndina with the sponsorship of COSUDE for the Mountain Forum - Latin America project.
This is the third of the series of InSitu E-Conferences moderated by Dr.Miguel Holle and CONDESAN-InfoAndina since 1995, covering issues of regional interest about the In-Situ conservation of biodiversity in different places of the globe.
In the e-conference ending today, we have discussed topics about In-Situ conservation of native crops by communitiees from different places in the continent: The islands of Chiloe, the Southern Andes (Argetina), in the bolivian altiplano, we have seen experiences of in-situ conservation in the central andes of Peru, and the role of research for the InSitu conservation in Ecuador, Honduras and Mexico.
In this forum have participated 100 representants from NGOs, national and international research institutions, Universities, native communities, reserve zones, donor institutions and research centers.
The participants belong to 20 countries in Latin America (85%), and the rest of the world (15%), to whom we are grateful for their valuable contributions.
My special thanks to Dr.Miguel Holle, for his special dedication and perseverance to go ahead with this third InSitu99 forum, one of the most successful ones from its series, where were circulated 14 articles and 35 comments during seven weeks.
My special thanks to CIP scientists, our colleagues who have participated actively in this forum (Zozimo Huaman, Maria Scurrah, Noel Pallais, Mario Tapia and Nelly Espinola), enriching with their experience the debate in the topics of native potatoes.
A special congratulation to InfoAndina, the information arm of CONDESAN, for its labor facilitating the organization of this successful forum, improving every time the quality of these events in behalf of the participants.
This list will continue open for post-conference comments during an additional period of three months, a final synthesis will be circulated and an evaluation questionnaire, which will allow to monitor the impact of this kind of actiities to improve them in the future.
